HASTINGS - My second great-grandfather, William Hastings was born in Amelia in Feb. 1811, and was the son of William and Elizabeth Hastings (Hastin, etc.) of Amelia County. The family apparently originated in Henrico County as indentured slaves of the Richard Cocke family. William Hastings, an earlier possible ancestor landed on the Curles of the James 1636-39 from London, England, but I do not have a complete and connected relation to my William Hastings.

FANN, HAMES, KRUGG, MOSELEY - Hi, I'm looking for info on Hames, who lived in at least two VA locations - old Rappahanock County (later Richmond)...and Amelia County. Later part of the family moved to Union County, South Carolina. Anyway, Charles Hames and wife Catherine Krugg left Richmond County for Amelia County probably sometime after 1740 and prior to 1759. It's possible he moved prior to marriage, and even possible while still a child - his parants may have been the ones to make the move (William Hames Jr and Winifred Fann). Anyway, by 1759, they definately were in Amelia, where they had a number of children, including William (very popular name in the family), born 1759. He married Elizabeth Moseley, but may have done this after the family moved again, this time to Union County, SC, where that line of the family finally settled down. William, though was only one of a number of children, and others in the family may have stayed in Amelia County, or elsewhere in VA. Any info on Hames, Moseley, Krugg, or Fann would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Danny Lloyd, dll452@airmail.net By the way, that traveling portion of the family eventually ended up in Texas, where I am.
